Assessment

Progress grids are pasted into the fronts of sketch books and used as a place to record progress as well as see how to improve attainment and ability.

We record pupils’ ability and progress across 2 areas:
  • Drawing and recording
  • Use of materials and artist research

At the beginning of each academic year pupils are asked to complete a base line test on order to check where pupils’ ability lies and then see how to make further progress.

Feedback
Feedback about  artwork is important. It is equally important that you respond to feedback in order to make continued progress.  Feedback happens in the following ways:

  • Ongoing verbal feedback in class
  • Peer and self-assessment
  • Target setting; peer, personal and teacher set
